The Cyprus Human Resources Management Association (CyHRMA), organized its 2018 Annual Conference on 6th June 2018 at Hilton
Park, Nicosia.
The conference witnessed above 200 delegates, proving that after the overwhelming success of the previous years’ conferences,
the CyHRMA Annual Conference has been established the premier destination for HR leaders in Cyprus.
Delegates were mainly Human Resource Professionals. The conference showcased the most disruptive and innovative HR trends.
The Conference began with welcoming speeches by the President of the Board of Directors, Mr. Panayiotis Thrasyvoulou, who welcomed
the participants and thanked them for their presence in this important event for the Association. He also thanked Mr. Alexandros
Alexandrou for attending the Conference on behalf of the Minister as well as for the Ministry's decision to place the Conference
under its auspices, acknowledging once again this great meaning to the Associations values.
An elite panel of global speakers was selected to share insights and ideas on the evolving role of the HR function as well
as how we should be approaching this new era.

Perry Timms a global & TEDx speaker, consultant and award-winning
writer on the future of work took us through his vision, model and ways of being to describe the HR metamorphosis for a transforming
world of work.
Alexander Grabner-Jarlung dazzled everyone on "The Art of Storytelling".
Alexander took everyone on a journey, or actually several journeys making each one to feel the power and the progression of
strategic storytelling. Delegates had the opportunity to ‘experience’ the effects of good storytelling, but most importantly,
got the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of why and how storytelling works.
Nebel Crowhurst spoke about embracing a culture of constant feedback in
performance management. River Island is three years into a transformation from a traditional performance management approach
towards a coaching style of support and feedback. Nebel Crowhurst, Head of Talent at River Island, said that the principle
behind the change is the notion that meaningful conversations should be happening all the time, rather than solely during the
end of year appraisal.
Ian Bailie with 15 years’+ experience in driving innovation and enabling strategic
transformation within HR discussed how companies can prepare for the Future of Work by embracing a data-driven mindset in HR
that will empower their people and help drive meaningful conversations with the business about engagement, talent strategy
and workforce planning.
It was an extremely valuable day which managed to endeavor in bringing best minds on one platform providing opportunity for
debate, discuss, and dissect evolving trends, key issues and challenges.
The event provided a stage gain insights, inspiration, and tools that will enable to bring the best to the practice of human
resources in the complex, and ever-changing space of HR environment.
