We are seeing some of the most challenging, disruptive and yet opportunistic times in the lives we live and the work we do. More than we’ve seen since some of the big shifts in the industrial revolution of the 19th and 20th centuries.
HR as a profession, is a product of the shift from production lines and manual labour, to the cognitive and creative ways we now serve people, build products and create platforms. Yet with more to come, it feels like HR is in need of a metamorphosis all of its own. Both to be more relevant and supportive to the people and the business of the future; and to help those people and the businesses of the future be smart, agile, and fair. Join Perry Timms as he takes us through his vision, model and ways of being to describe that HR metamorphosis for a transforming world of work. Helping us to reimagine the people profession and answer the question “So what’s’ HR ever done for us?”
Perry Timms is a global & TEDx speaker, consultant and award-winning writer on the future of work, HR & learning; which was recognised by his inclusion on HR’s Most Influential Thinkers List for 2017. As a result, organisations and HR teams are returning to the drawing board and re-designing continuous feedback approaches that are tailored to their specific needs. Hear how two organisations are creating new, efficient systems by:
•upskilling line managers to deliver effective coaching conversations
•linking individual and team performance to the outcomes of their business unit
•reducing the focus on appraisals to make room for a new feedback system.

Human resources management is the process of managing people in a structured manner with a focus on developing a work force which can effectively help the organization to meet its objectives. Studies show an increase in occupational stress which has an adverse effect not only on the health and wellbeing of the individual but also on the health of the organization.
In the frenetic world of today where management principles are being turned on their heads there are some principles and precepts which are constant and which can help in the development of human resources in such a way that the health of the organization and the health of the bottom line is safeguarded. In this short talk we will see how the science of Yoga – techniques & practices- can be helpful.

AlphaMega is one of the largest and most well – known hypermarket chains in Cyprus. Its story begun in 1997 when the Charalambides Hypermarket in Engomis, Nicosia, was sold to Mr Andreas Papaellinas, the owner of C.A. Papaellinas Emporiki Ltd. This hypermarket became known as a store offering the finest and most varied selection of local and imported goods to its customers. In 2002, the hypermarket was renamed to ‘AlphaMega’, and the company expanded with the opening of its Acropolis store. This new Hypermarket introduced a new way of shopping, where both the customer and the trolley were carried from the ground floor to the first floor on a special escalator. In 2004, the company acquired and renovated a local supermarket in Larnaca, namely ‘Fthini Gonia’. In October 2007, C.A. Papaellinas Emporiki Ltd expanded to Limassol with the opening of a modern facility, offering the Limassol people the quality and elegance that only AlphaMega knows how to achieve.
In 2011 the ‘Green Valley’ supermarket in Deftera was turned into a store which was new to the AlphaMega family; namely, it was called ‘AlphaMega Fresh & Easy’ – it offers the same product quality that AlphaMega is known for, but it is a smaller-sized store. In late 2011 the company expanded to Paphos with the opening of a state-of-the-art facility. 2013 was a year of great expansion. AlphaMega opened new stores in Scarinou, Kolossi and Kapsalos (both located in Limassol) and Larnaca (this store was named Larnaca – Central). The Limassol-Marina convenience store opened its doors in August 2014, marking the 11th opening of an AlphaMega store. The chain welcomed its fourth hypermarket in Nicosia – and its 12th store – in October 2016 in the Latsia area. The AlphaMega quality and service can now be found in this warm, modern and medium-sized space. On the 25th of March 2018, the Alphamega Kiti Hypermarket opens its doors, increasing the Company’s personnel number to 1470.
At AlphaMega Hypermarkets, customer satisfaction is our highest priority. Our team works efficiently and collaboratively to make sure that everything, from product quality and variety to quality of service, lives up to our clients’ expectations and we take pride in making your shopping a pleasant experience.
