The European Association for People Management (EAPM), together with partner organisations, is pleased to share the HRxAI European Survey 2026, exploring how HR professionals across Europe are currently approaching the use of artificial intelligence in the workplace.
Bringing together perspectives from 327 HR professionals across 30 countries, the survey offers insight into how AI is being used across recruitment, talent management, organisational governance, and HR decision-making, while also highlighting important questions around capability, trust, accountability, and responsible implementation.
The findings suggest that AI adoption within HR is growing, but often remains at an early or informal stage. Many respondents reported limited organisational guidance, low levels of formal AI training, and uncertainty around accountability frameworks for AI-influenced decisions.
At the same time, the survey highlights a profession that is open to innovation and increasingly engaged with the opportunities AI may bring to HR practice.
Among the key themes emerging from the survey:
The survey also indicates that HR professionals are particularly interested in ensuring that AI adoption remains ethical, transparent, and people-centred as organisations continue to experiment with new technologies and ways of working.
The HRxAI European Survey 2026 was developed collaboratively with partner organisations contributing to the wider European HR and people management dialogue. The initiative is intended to support discussion, reflection, and practical learning among HR professionals, employers, researchers, and policymakers interested in the future of AI in people management.
Alongside the full report, EAPM is also sharing a visual survey highlights deck, blog content, and social media assets to help support wider professional discussion across national HR communities.
EAPM member associations are welcome to adapt and contextualise the materials for discussion and dissemination within their own countries and professional environments.
