Current HRM Developments and Challenges in Cyprus

On April 13th 2016, CyHRMA in cooperation with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) Cyprus, organized an open lecture/presentation for the students and professors of the University on “Current HRM Developments and Challenges in Cyprus”. The lecture was presented by Mr Angelos Louis, Director of RED HR Solutions.

The objective of the presentation was to share the current developments and challenges of the HRM function in view of the economic crisis and to touch upon issues such as the role of HRM function in the Cypriot organizations, the status of the function and how it is viewed by the top management and HR Professionals.

The presentation included the results of Cranet survey which was completed in 2014 and compared its results with a similar survey which was completed in 2008. The survey was contacted among 89 companies and organizations in Cyprus with more than 100 employees. The survey included area such as: recruitment practices, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation and benefits, industrial relations and communication.
