On July 3, 2024, on Wednesday, the Annual General Meeting of the Cyprus Association of Human Resources Management (CyHRMA) was held at the Semeli Hotel in Nicosia.
The Annual General Meeting began with a greeting by Ms. Eleana Agrotou (Board Member and Secretary of CyHRMA) where she referred to the Minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting, held on 26 June 2023, which were unanimously approved by the attendees. Then, Ms. Maria Georgiou (Board Member and President of CyHRMA), presented a detailed report with the actions of the Association for the period June 2023 – June 2024.
Key Points from the Board of Directors’ Report:
Number of Members: Membership increased from 634 in 2023 to 665 in 2024.
Events and Activities:
Supported Events: The Association supported or attended multiple significant events, including the PASYKAF General Assembly (June 25, 2024), Great Place to Work Awards (May 17, 2024), INBusiness Awards (April 25, 2024), and others related to education and workforce development.
Strategic Direction: Strategic meetings of the Board led to a re-definment of the Association’s Vision and engagement with various stakeholders.
Surveys: Participation in and promotion of surveys such as the CPA Survey, Teleworking and Wellbeing Survey, and Future of Jobs Survey. Members were encouraged to contribute to the Creating People Advantage Survey.
Collaboration with Authorities: Strengthened ties with the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance and the Human Resource Development Authority (HRDA), focusing on telework legislation and gender equality.
Media Presence: Increased social media activity, attended podcasts with Human Asset, articles in professional magazines, and updates to the Association’s constitution.
Financial Report:
The Vice President, Ms. Athina Neophytou, presented the 2023 financial report, which showed an increase in revenue, cash reserves, and surplus compared to 2022. The accounts were approved by the members.
Constitutional Amendments:
Amendments to specific articles were discussed but not approved.
Key discussions included:
Both proposals will be revisited by the Board with new suggestions.
At the end of the Meeting, Mr. George Phylactou (Board Member) presented the findings of the Teleworking and Wellbeing survey where after a cocktail reception followed.
