Committee Member - Costas Papakyriacou


Costas Papakyriacou is a Senior Professional Advisor in Human Resource Management, Safety / Loss Control Management and Learning & Development with solid work experience acquired after a long career in large Organisations in the industrial sectors of Asbestos Mining, Cement Manufacture and Petroleum Refining. His career spanning more than 35 years in technical positions (Mine & Land Surveyor-Engineer, Quarry Engineer) and non-technical positions (Personnel Officer Training & Development, Head Human Resources & Safety).

He holds an MA degree in Personnel Administration, Diplomas in Mining Engineering, Geology and Mine Surveying, Full Membership with the following professional bodies: Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, UK (Chartered MCIPD), Founder Member of the Institute of Leadership & Management, UK (MInstLM), Professional Member of the Society for Human Resource Management, USA, Ex-Emeritus Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, USA, Certified by the International Loss Control Institute in Managing Safety / Loss Control, USA and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents in Safety Inspections UK.

He is also Fellow Member of the Cyprus Human Resource Management Association (FCyHRMA) in which he was holding the role of Secretary (1998-2008) and President of the Board of Directors (2009 – 2011). In June 2015 he was declared as Honorary President in recognition of his valuable contribution and long standing services to the Association.

He contributes with articles and studies in professional magazines and local press media. His special interests are presently focused on Business Ethics in practice and the supportive role of HR.
