ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2022

On Wednesday May 4th, 2022 in the presence of 22 Members, the Annual General Meeting of our Association was held at the Journalists House, in Nicosia.

The Annual General Meeting was commenced by Mrs. Maria Georgiou and the Minutes of the previous General Meeting of 2021 were approved by all the present members.

An account of the events and activities of the period June 2021 – May 2022 followed, presented by the President of the association, Ms Elena Stavrinou. She referred to the Members of the Association, which now amount to 624 compared to 593 in 2021.

Ms Stavrinou referred to the Events /Activities organized by the Association:

  • On September 22, 2021, a member networking event “Drinks with the Board” took place, where the Members of the Association had the opportunity to meet the new Board, as well as to network.
  • On September 1st and 8th, 2021, our Association supported the online training organized by CARDET and the Institute of Development CY on “Promoting intergenerational learning in the workplace”
  • On October 12 and 13, 2021, CyHRMA co-organized with the CSI Organization that manages the Diversity Chartrer the e-learning on “Introduction to Diversity and Integration in the Workplace”
  • On October 4 and 6, 2021, Eleana Agrotou, Member of the CyHRMA Board, took part in iFX EXPO International 2021 as a panelist, organized in Limassol.
  • Within the framework of the 30 years of the Association, presentations were organized to MSc HR and MBA students by Members of the Association at the Universities: University of Cyprus, University of Nicosia, CIIM and CIM, on the topic “The future of HR”.
  • On February 24, 2022 in collaboration with CARDET training center, the Institute of Development CY and Innovation an online seminar was organized on “Happiness at work: Factors that contribute to work happiness”
  • On March 16, 2022, the CyHRMA in collaboration with the University of Cyprus organized an online event on “Creating People Advantage Survey results – The case of Cyprus”, which was attended by Members of the Association from various fields as panelists.
  • On May 4, 2022, the President of the Association, Mrs. Elena Stavrinou, took part as a panelist in the Cyprus Career Expo, which was under the auspices of CyHRMA. She also addressed a short greeting at the event.

Ms. Stavrinou congratulated the Member of the Board, Ms. Elli Matsouka for her election as a Member of the Board of the European Association for People Management (EAPM).

Finally, she invited the attendees to the charity gala of the Association which took place on 19/05/2022 in the context of the celebrations for 30years and the International Human Resources Day and to the Annual Conference of the Association that took place on June 29, 2022.

Next, the Treasurer of the Association, Mr Marios Christoforou, presented the audited financial accounts for 2021 and these were approved by the present members. Mr. Christoforou mentioned that there was a decrease in income, cash, and surplus, emphasizing that due to the pandemic it was not possible to hold the Annual Conference which could bring financial benefit to the Association. Nevertheless, he stated that the Association’s finances are “healthy” and it must be taken into account that in 2021 purchases were made for the Association’s infrastructure (new website, new CRM system), as well as expenses related to the celebrations of the 30th anniversary.

Additionally, it was announced that the Association renewed the agreement with the existing auditors, Mr. Demetris Demetriades and Mr. Gregoris Demetriou for one more year (financial audit period 01/01/2022 – 31/12/2022) and this was also approved by the present  Members.

This was followed by an interesting presentation on “HR Metrics” by Athena Neophytou and Elina Kyratzi (Alfamega).

To conclude, the Members of the Board of Directors thanked the Members of the Association who participated in the Annual General Meeting and a discussion followed.
